- In large nonstick saucepan or Dutch oven, brown beef; drain fat. Add onion, jalapeño and garlic; cook 3 minutes. Add tomatoes with chiles, broth, apple, olives, raisins and cinnamon stick.
- Bring mixture to boiling; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 20 minutes or until slightly thickened.
- Remove cinnamon stick before serving. Sprinkle with almonds. Serve over hot cooked rice or in flour tortillas, if desired.
