Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground turkey breast
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. sea salt
  • 4 large portobello mushrooms, stems removed
  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • Chopped fresh basil
  • Balsamic vinegar (optional)

  1. Coat grill rack with nonstick cooking spray. Preheat grill to medium-high (350°F to 400°F). In a medium bowl combine turkey, garlic powder, salt, and freshly ground pepper to taste. Shape into 4 patties 1½ inches thick.
  2. Place patties on grill. Grill, covered, 5 minutes per side or until an instant-read thermometer registers 165°F. Place portobellos, tomatoes and onion on a vegetable rack or in a grill basket. Grill 2 minutes per side or until lightly charred. Remove from grill.
  3. Place 1 turkey burger on each portobello. Top with tomato and onion, sprinkle with basil, and (if desired) drizzle with vinegar. Serve immediately.
