- Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add bell pepper and onion; cook and stir until tender. Stir in chili, tomatoes, beef broth, tomato sauce, sugar and tomato paste. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
- Stir in pasta. Return to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer about 5 to 7 minutes more or just until heated through do not overcook the pasta. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Ladle soup into bowls, and sprinkle with cheese. Serve warm.
