Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. lean ground beef
  • 1 (16-oz.) can light red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (16-oz.) can dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15-oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5-oz.) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, finely chopped*

  1. In a 4-quart Dutch oven cook ground beef, half at a time, over medium-high heat until browned. Drain fat; return all meat to pan.
  2. Stir in beans, tomato sauce, tomatoes, chili powder and jalapeño pepper. Bring to boiling;reduce heat. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
