Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 (28-oz.) can spicy baked beans
  • 2 (8-oz.) slices deli ham, chopped
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 bacon slices, crisp-cooked and crumbled
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 cube low-sodium beef bouillon
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

  1. In a large skillet cook and stir ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain fat.
  2. Transfer beef to a 4-quart slow cooker. Add beans, ham, brown sugar, maple syrup, bacon, onion powder, bouillon granules, garlic salt, cayenne pepper and 3/4 cup water. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine. Cover and cook on LOW 10 to 12 hours. Stir once more before serving.
